During the month of November Bell High clubs will
come together to celebrate diversities. Bell students will be informed about
different cultures that students are from and traditional food will be
sold and information will be given.
Take
Action Campaign members are organizing the event to help other clubs raise funds
and to spread culture awareness. “It’s a great idea to have everyone uniting
for a greater good,” said Jeane Ramos, a Take Action member. Clubs are coming
together to spread awareness of diversity that is found in Bell High School.
Students will get to see different cultures come together and they will be able
to learn about the diversity that surround Bell High.
The
cultures that will be shared are Latin American, Islam, French and Japanese.
Golf
club is one if the clubs that will benefit from the event. They will be able to
get funds, and at the same time they will show their culture through their
food. Mr. Aviles coach of the gold club said, “It’s an excellent opportunity to
share with students of other cultures our food and our traditions.” On the day
of the event not only will food be sold, but information will be given.
Bell
students are mainly from Latin American and Islamic roots; the event is going
to get students that are not part of those cultures to learn about them.
Students will be able to learn about associate with other people. Food will be
sold on Wednesdays and information will be handed out on Mondays and Fridays.
The first week of November will be dedicated to the Latin American culture. The
second week will be for the Islamic culture, and the last week will be shared
by the French and Japanese culture. Many students are looking forward to
sharing their roots, “I am proud of my Latin roots and I am excited that
everyone will see them,” said 12 grader, Adela Lara.
